Sarah Bell Wilson

Sarah Bell Wilson’s practice explores perspective and the layering of textures to evoke the sensory experience of landscapes she has encountered. Through deliberate mark-making and dynamic brushwork, she reconciles chaos and order, creating a profound connection to nature. Her canvases, often self-stretched, embody the physical and emotional depth of her process, reflecting the landscapes’ detail and her personal journey. Wilson is an artist born in Kentucky and raised throughout Virginia, who has traveled across the U.S and overseas. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. Wilson earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting and Drawing from Longwood University. While in Farmville, VA, she exhibited at galleries like: The Bedford Gallery and the Longwood Center for Visual Arts (LCVA), where her work was recognized in the group exhibition "Final Departure" and later became part of the gallery's permanent collection. In 2024, Wilson was selected by the Transformers Gallery to showcase her work in the "Transcendence Gala Auction" at the Katzen Arts Center. She also received the Ruth Miexer-Bird Scholarship in recognition of her artistic merit. Wilson is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts, alongside a graduate assistantship, at American University.
